Complaints and Allegations
Complaints and allegations may be brought to the attention of the Auditor General of Québec. Correspondence may be sent by mail or by e-mail.
As part of the procedure for processing complaints and allegations, an examination is first made of the complaints or allegations to determine whether they concern the statutory duties of the Auditor General. Afterwards, a decision is made regarding the relevance of carrying out an audit and, as the case may be, the period when that audit will take place. This decision is based on certain criteria, such as the importance, the recurrence and the verifiability of the complaints and allegations. When findings and recommendations are made, the Auditor General evaluates whether it is necessary to inform the appropriate government authorities and parliamentarians pursuant to the Auditor General Act.
